We try to use as much locally produced food as is possible. Our belief is that you should know where your food comes from. Here is a list of our local producers and a little bit of information about them.

Prairie Lavender Farm
A small lavender farm, we are dedicated to growing and developing the highest quality lavender and lavender products from the High Plains Prairie. We offer over 90 bath and beauty products, culinary items along with our wonderful lavender. We've added another 500 plants, so now have over 3200 plants of 9 different varieties. ACME farm raises hormone free pastured chicken, eggs, pork, beef, raw cow's milk and goat's milk. We are certified organic farmers committed to preserving our environment for future generations and producing foods that are tasty and nutritious. We grow wheat, soybeans, Milo, alfalfa, red clover, asparagus and dry beans. We add value by cleaning, milling and packaging our whole-grain products. Products available year round include breads, buns, mixes (bread, brownie, muffin, cookie, pancake, re-fried beans), flours, cereals, cracked or whole-grain wheat and soybeans, pinto and black beans, and hay and straw in small square or large round bales. The Heide-Way Farm is "Your Source for Farm-Fresh Produce". Located 20 miles north of Abilene, Kansas, the Heide-Way Farm is a member of the Kansas Vegetable Growers Association and sustainably produces a variety of naturally-grown fruits and vegetables, a large variety of herbs and starter plants, cut flowers, all-natural beef, pork and chickens and home-made jams, jellies, and preserves.

Grass-Fed Indian Creek Bison
Indian Creek Bison Ranch is located in the heart of Kansas about 20 minutes west of Wichita, Kansas on highway 96. The Schmidt family have been involved in agriculture since the nineteen-thirties. Jerry was raised in the agricultural business and started raising and breeding bison in 1981.
Throughout his youth Jerry developed an appreciation for the wilderness and the bison that roamed across this nation. Jerry went about the research required to develop the business plan needed to set the idea into motion. They talked to other bison producers about how they raised their buffalo. They visited many bison ranches to check out their handling facilities, working pens, corrals and fences. They joined the Kansas State Buffalo Associations and has been held several appointed offices including President for several terms. -

Lazy S Farms
We raise Heritage turkeys, lamb, pork, and eggs. Conserving heritage breeds is a goal of Lazy S Farms. Our animals are raised in a humane way in accordance with the strict production guidelines of the Animal Welfare Institue. Heritage animals refers to lines of farm animals unchanged by genetic modification. Our animals are not raised in confinement or given growth hormones or stimulants. Alexander Farms
Alexander Farm is located two miles east of Kipp. Lucy works full time and grows vegetables on the side. When she was about 10, she started vegetable gardening as a 4H project, with her Mom's help. She has a small hoop house where she grows broccoli, beets, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

C&C High Tunnel Farm
C&C High Tunnnel Farms began in 2009 when Chris & Christi Janssen began growing vegetables for market. The Janssens grow tomatoes, peppers, okra, eggplant, cucumbers and sweet potatoes. Their farm in Scandia, KS includes two (30' x 140') high tunnels that allow for an extended growing season and through the winter months thye grow spinach, kale, mixed salad greens, lettuce, and radishes. They market their produce at several local farmers' markets, local restaurants, direct to the public and wholesale.

Weibe Cheese
Jason Wiebe and his wife Sheri and their three children, Benjamin, Matthew and Shannon, live on their farm near Durham, Kansas. They raise their dairy cows on the farm that Jason’s grandparents started. Today they also make natural cheese on that farm. Not only are the Wiebe’s making history with their Farmhouse cheese, they live with history—their farm is located on the Santa Fe trail. Their cattle walk across the ruts left by countless wagon trains. They appreciate their heritage of owning land on the Santa Fe Trail and they look to passing this on to many generations to come. They choose to pass it on to the next generation even better than they received it from the past generation. That's the depth of their commitment to sustainability.

Gabe's Sunflower Oasis, LLC
Gabe's Sunflower Oasis is located 2 miles west of Assaria, KS. Dwight Gage and his wife Carol own 80 acres in Saline County where about 5 acres has been cleared for gardening. In 2008 Dwightretired as a truck driver and started working to get his soil balanced so he could grow healthy vegetables naturally without pesticides or herbicides to sell at market. In 2009 he put up a frame for a greenhouse so he could extend his growing season. He grows tomatoes, a variety of onions, peppers, okra, beets, radishes, cucumbers, and cantaloupe. He sells his produce at the Farmers' Market in Salina and at Prairieland Market.

Ted Zerger
Ted Zerger, a professor emeritus in mathematics at Kansas Wesleyan University, became a master gardener after retirement. He has generously lent his gardening skills around the Salina community, by working in and overseeing the Emergency Aid-Food Bank garden, and by developing a community garden in a lower income neighborhood in Salina. Named the Peace Garden, this community garden has becomde a place for food and flowers and occasional festivities, and where children and adults alike take part in the sowing and reaping, in an effort to build community.

Martha Murchison is the pastor at Sunrise Presbyterian Church. She is a writer and loves to garden and read as much as possible. She is deeply concerned about the environment. Martha grows a wide variety of herbs in her garden and sells them at the Prairieland Market.
